Zine
Brum Library Zine was created as part of a 2024 campaign to save the 35 libraries of Birmingham that were under threat of closure due to funding cuts by Birmingham City Council. I worked with artist Black Country Type on the design of the publication, defining the visual identity of the zine and developing the illustrations found throughout.

The cover image is based on a sign found on Selly Oak Library, bearing a symbol that was once commonly associated with libraries. It is overlain with part of an image of the roof of the former Birmingham Central Library, as a reminder of what has already been lost.
The images that punctuate the contents of the book were created using borrowed diagrams and other miscellaneous images taken from assorted library books.
